Question:
What can harm or crack concrete borders?
Answer:
Tree roots can grow under any kind of concrete and cause
it to crack and lift.
Questions:
How do I repair something underneath the concrete
curbing?
Answer:
Control joints are placed in the curb at installation.
The curbing can be broken clean at these joints by
applying leverage with a flat garden spade. Once
the section is free, simply remove it, complete your
repairs, and place the section of concrete edging into
its original position.
Question:
What type of maintenance should I perform on my new
curbing to keep it looking like it is new?
Answer:
Sealing your border every year is recommended. Use
a high grade acrylic, non yellowing sealer that can be
purchased at any concrete supply store. Apply with
a 6" float roller.
Question:
Will frost and ground shifting affect my curbing?
Answer:
Our curb is reinforced with Harbourite fiber mesh which
adds considerable strength to the curb. Expansion
joins are also cut every 2 feet to control cracking.
In addition, our curbing is a continuous piece of
concrete. Individual blocks or bricks will shift
over time and in the winter.
